It’s the first of the month and that means time for another Di’s Country INKers blog hop. You may have arrived from Di’s blog – what did you think of her Springtime project?
Today’s card was one we made in class this week. The little purple blooms remind me of Lilacs, which, if it ever stops raining, will soon be in bloom here. I don’t know about you, but I think the springtime scent of Lilacs is one of the prettiest smells on earth!
Today’s project begins with an Emerald Envy card base. The foliage, from Number of Years, was inked in Emerald Envy and stamped off twice. The flowers, from the same set, were inked in Wisteria Wonder and also stamped off. The greeting, also from Number of Years, was stamped in Emerald Envy. We used the Layering Squares Framelits and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White squares in the focal point.
Now, it’s a bit hard to photograph sparkles, but you can kind of see how sparkly and shiny this little Dragonfly is. While I was designing this card, I was playing around with a few different ways to take this little guy up a notch, and I came up with a new-to-me technique in the process. I showed it to the girls in my class this week and they were just as excited about it as I was. It’s hard to describe, so I’m working on a video to show you what I discovered. I’ll have it posted in a few days. Here’s a close-up…
Thank you so much for stopping by today. A full list of the products used is listed below as well as all the stops on our hop. Please try to leave our hoppers a little comment love – your feedback really means a lot! Now off you go to see what Kathya has in store for you.

Thank you so much, Kathya! And thanks for helping make our hop so successful!!
A BEAUTIFUL design … makes me really notice and appreciate Emerald Envy for the first time. Looking forward to your video!
Thank you, Rita! I’m working on the video – I’m new to video editing, so I’m on a learning curve, but it’ll be worth the wait!
Your video will be very much appreciated …. I’m sure there will be a LOT of time and effort put into making it.
Oh I love it, and yes Lilacs are one of my fave flowers and we don’t have them in AZ! A video? Did you say video? Yes oh yes!
Big hugs, Di
Thanks, Di! Yes, I’m going to try my had at doing a video (gasp!)
What a beautiful way to use emerald envy; and it almost seems as if coordinated using the dragonflies!
Thanks, Mary!
