Creative Circle March Blog Hop – Preview of The Garden

CCDT March Blog Hop Button

Welcome to the Creative Circle March Blog Hop.  This month we are giving you a preview of The Garden – one of Liz’ most recent projects.  If you’ve just come from her blog, you got a chance to see her lovely interpretation of the design.  Because it’s so easy to resize cut files on my Silhouette, I decided to miniaturize it a bit and make a card-in-a-box!  beelinestamping.com 3-5-16BMy garden was primarily constructed with cardstock with a few bits of Botanical Gardens DSP used on the outside of the box (visible with flaps up) and the trellis.  All the flowers were cut using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and cardstock (Basic Black, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Old Olive, and Mossy Meadow)  the Happy Birthday greeting on the front was done with Teeny Tiny Wishes and the Word Window punch.

I made a couple of companion cards to go with the set – take a look:

Again, I relied heavily on cardstock for my basic color scheme and accented with die cut flowers and bits of  Botanical Gardens DSP.  The greetings used were from Birthday Blooms and Botanicals For You – a Sale-a-Bration set designed to coordinate with the Botanicals suite!

If you will be in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, April 13th, consider joining us for our live event at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.  You’ll get a pre-cut kit for The Garden 3D cardholder as well as 3 coordinating cards.  You’ll also receive a download code for all the cut files, a video tutorial on it’s assembly, as well as unwatermarked, unrestricted, written tutorials for the cards we make at the event as well as 9 additional coordinating cards.  To further entice you, here are a few teaser photos:

Creative Circle Gift Card Combo Box

December 2015 Blog Hop Button

Welcome to the Creative Circle December Blog Hop – I’m so glad you are here!  So tell me, are you completely in love with Sandy’s project?  I know I always am!!!

This month we are working with a very unique box that Liz has created.  It’s both a box and a gift card holder – great timing with the Holidays upon us!  Traditionally, we make three cards to be enclosed in the boxes we work with.  This month, however, I decided to turn my box into a hostess gift with an accompanying card.  Here’s my project:

beelinestamping.com 12-5-15A little background on my choice of color schemes.  Last week we had a doozy of a snow storm blow through.  We got about a foot of heavy, wet snow that piled high on everything that wasn’t shoveled.  That night, the temps dropped and hard froze everything.  As severe as mother nature sometimes is with us, she also shows us some pretty beautiful stuff, and the next morning the sky was impossibly blue and all the hard frozen snow was glistening in the sunlight.  White sparkle with blue sky is one of my favorite things about winter, and served as the inspiration of my project.  My box is made from Pool Party cardstock and has a layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, another layer of Pool Party cardstock, and a top layer of the snowflake motif from the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. It’s accented with Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Silver Cording Trim,  a Tea Lace Paper Doily, and a white-embossed Snowflake Element.

Here’s a closer look at the box:

And then when you open it – not only does it have a place for a gift card, mine also contains some sweet treats!!  Perfect to bring with to one of the many holiday parties I will be attending this month.  The greeting on the inside is from the Versatile Christmas stamp set and the stamped snowflakes are from the Project Life Hello December 2015 set.  The corners were done with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch with some Rhinestones for bling.beelinestamping.com 12-5-15B

The pattern for this box is available in Liz’ online store, and the video tutorial for assembly can be found here. The cut files are just $3.99 and you can use them with your e-cutter, or you can get them in a .pdf format to use as a template for manual cutting. Why not make some lovely gifts for your hostesses!

Oh! One last bit of eye candy… Liz gifted each of us with a cut file for some miniature boxes, and I built my own Advent Calendar with them. Of course, the Blue Snowflake theme was carried through this project. The DSP I used is, unfortunately, retired, but I thought it went well with today’s post!beelinestamping.com 12-5-15D

I didn’t give you much of a look at the matching card for today’s project, but if you’ll stop back next week, I’ll have more details for you!  Now, off you go to see what awaits you at Fran’s blog.  I hope you have a great weekend, and don’t forget to take some time off from all the holiday preparations to create something.  You’d be surprised at how much more productive you can be when you have a little mental vacation!!December 2015 Blog Hop Button

Creative Circle Blog Hop and Giveaway

Creative Circle Blog Hop Resized

Welcome to the November edition of the Creative Circle Blog Hop!  You may have arrived from seeing Fran’s lovely ensemble or you may be just joining us – either way, we have some great stuff to show you!

Beelinestamping.com 11-5-15This month we are working with Liz’ Simple Box pattern, and I chose a Fall/Thanksgiving theme for my project.  I’m really finding it difficult to put the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set down, and it pairs so well with the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper!  The first card in my set picks up the Rich Razzleberry and Mossy Meadow colors in the DSP.  The leaf was stamped in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White, die cut with the Leaflets Framelits and then Mossy Meadow ink was sponged overall.  The “Thankful” sentiment  from Six Sayings Hostess Set was stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink onto Whisper White, then the corners were punched with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch – love it!  The second card echoes the cover of my box and uses the lovely floral pattern from the Into the Woods DSP as it’s focal point.  My third card went a bit rogue – I wondered if I could heat emboss the gold foil paper – turns out you can, but it’s a little tricky.  It takes a steady hand to stamp onto the foil.  The surface is so smooth and shiny that the inked stamp wants to slide around a bit, but I think the result is worth the extra effort.  Black embossing over the Gold Foil is simply elegant!

Beelinestamping.com 11-5-15aThe box to hold all these cards in is super simple to cut and assemble.  It’s not your ordinary box, however – the front half of the box lid flips open so you can access your cards without having to remove the lid.  Would you like to make one (or several) of your own?  Liz is offering this pattern as a freebie!  All you need to do is head over here

and download it!  How cool is that?

I do hope you have time to hop along with us – Liz is next on our hop, and I’m sure her set is wonderful, as always!!  Thanks for stopping by today.  With the Holiday season nearing, please remember to take some time out for yourself and create – it’s a wonderful stress reliever!

Creative Circle Haunted House Blog Hop and Giveaway

12032785_1037765192941200_3504039905526456546_o[1]

Spooky greetings to you, and thanks for stopping by.  This month the Creative Circle Design Team got to work with Liz’ amazing Haunted House pattern! Hope you were as impressed with Fran’s project as I was; here’s my version:

beelinestamping.com 10-5-15AThe base was cut out from Basic Black cardstock, and then decorated with Happy Haunting designer series paper.  If you look close, the pattern on my house is actually little bats!  The floating ghosts were fussy cut from a sheet in this pack as well.  And how about that Black Glimmer Paper in the center?!  You can kind of see how sparkly it is, but you should see this stuff for yourself – it’s gorgeous! The decorations on top of the roof are pieces of a Spider Web Doily that I cut up and glued in place.  One side is black and the other is white.  Yes, I know the ‘iron’ decorations should be black, but it’s the artist’s prerogative to change the color to suit the design, right?beelinestamping.com 10-5-15B

As darling as this Haunted House design is by itself, it is actually functional as well.  There’s a slot in the back to hold a set of cards!  What a cute Halloween gift this would make!  And here’s my house with it’s set of cards:

beelinestamping.com 10-5-15CI just love anything to do with glitter and sparkle, so each of my cards had a glimmer paper element to it.  Stop back over the next few days for a closer look at each of them…

So, now that you’ve had a chance to see this pattern in action, I just know you want to make one of your own.  If you head over to Liz’ online store, the cut files for the house sell for $6.99.  Along with the files, Liz has created a video showing you how to assemble your house.  Get started on yours today!

Now, if you’ve been joining us on our blog hops, you know that each of us always has something to give away to one lucky reader and this month is no exception.  Just leave me a comment about your favorite Halloween treat, and on October 19th, I will pick a name at random.  The winner will receive, via mail, pre-cut base pieces to build a house with.  The decorating will be left up to you!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  It’s time to send you over to Sandy for her version of the house!

Creative Circle Backpack Blog Hop

9-15 creative circle blog hop button

Today, the Creative Circle design team is featuring another of Liz’s fabulous 3D patterns – this time it’s a backpack.  So appropriate as all the kids in my neighborhood have just gone back to school!  Here’s my ensemble:beelinestamping.com 9-5-15a

I’m a complete Vera Bradley freak.  In fact, I have two of their backpacks.  I just love all their floral patterns and the English Garden designer series paper pack really reminds me of Vera Bradley fabric.  I thought it was a good fit for my backpack ensemble.

Liz’s pattern has the flap and buckle on the front.  However, while working with it, I thought it would look nice with a pocket on the front, so I created a small gift card envelope using the Envelope Punch Board and attached it to my backpack.  Wouldn’t this make a nice teacher’s gift?  A Starbucks card in the pocket and some mini note cards with envelopes inside – what teacher wouldn’t like that?  Another thing the front pocket could hold would be some postage stamps – convenient to mail out the cards inside, eh?

beelinestamping.com 9-5-15cIf this looks like a lot of work to put together, let me tell you, it was a snap!  Liz’s pattern comes in both .pdf so you can hand cut it, and .svg to be used on an e-cutter.  There’s also a video tutorial showing you exactly how all the pieces are assembled.  Easy!

Would you like to win a copy of the pattern? Leave me a comment and tell me about one of your favorite memories of being in school.  On Sept 20th, I will pick a winner at random and Liz will send you a link for your free copy!

Can’t wait until then?  Go ahead and order yours today.  The pattern with video is just $3.99 and can be found here

Go ahead – you know you want to!!

Ok, off you go now to see how Sandy decorated her backpack.  Thank you so much for hopping with us today!  I hope you have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.
