Di’s Country INKers Easter Blog Hop

March 2015 Blog Hop-ResizedIt’s the first of the month, and time for another Di’s Country INKers Blog Hop!  That little Easter Bunny will be coming around in just a few short weeks.  I’m hoping (praying) that we will have some spring flowers showing to guide him on his way!

I’m far to impatient to wait for my tulips to bloom, so I stamped some flowers of my own.  These lovely blooms are from the Indescribable Gift set.  I stamped them in Versamark on Whisper White cardstock, then heat embossed in gold.  The petals were colored with the Pink Pirouette Blendabilities set and the leaves with Wild Wasabi Blendies.

To create the gold frame, I used the second largest of the Oval Framelits.  In order to leave just a little of the gold oval showing, I traced the outside of the same framelit on the back of a Pink Pirouette layer and hand cut it.  It was embossed with the Spring Flowers Embossing folder before layering in over the gold oval.  I added a little bow with 1/8″ gold ribbon, and finished off the piece with some Gold Stampin’ Glitter on the stamen.

Thanks for visiting today – now off you go to see what Kathya has made for you.  Hope you have a great rest of your weekend, and if I don’t talk to you, Happy Easter!!

Thinking of Ewe

Eggstra Special 2-www.beelinestamping.com-3-4-14Here’s another card I promised to show you during last weekend’s blog hop, and was also made with my new favorite stamp set – Eggstra Spectacular.  The hardest part about making this one was getting the Staz-On ink only on the lamb image and not the words.  Of course you could always cut the stamp to separate the words from the image, but I can never bring myself to take a scissors or knife to any of my stamps! Aaaargh!  It’s kind of like seeing a child take a scissors to her long hair and cutting off a chunk.  In the end, you know it’ll be ok, but I’d just as soon avoid it all together.

So, how did I solve the problem you wonder.  Easy peasy – I used a sticky note to mask the words then inked.  Pull off the sticky note and you can then stamp the only the image.

Here, I stamped onto Whisper White, then colored the face and part of the tummy with Pink Pirouette marker.  The eggs and basket were marker colored as well with Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum.  It was punched with the 1-1/4 circle punch, then adhered to Pink Pirouette cardstock and punched with the 1-3/8 circle punch.  The next layer is Pear Pizzazz and was punched with a (gasp) non SU 1-1/2″ punch.

The base is Pink Pirouette, with a Whisper White top layer that was embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder (only available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration award)  I used the 1-3/4″ circle punch in the white layer to create a frame for my stamped image.  Finally, a bit of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon for the bow and a few Pear Pizazz candy dots rounded off the embellishments.

What do you think – is it worthy of this little cutie?

www.beelinestamping.com-March, 2014This is my Granddaughter, Karly.  She’ll be 4 months old in a couple of weeks.  What a sweetheart she is – always smiling!  This photo just melts my heart and makes me want to kiss her little face.  (She’s darned lucky I don’t wear lipstick – just sayin’…)

All right, kids.  My laundry awaits.  Have a wonderful Tuesday – stamp something fun this week!

So Very Grateful Valentine

www.beelinestamping.com-2-14-14The first stamp set I ordered from the 2014 Spring Mini catalog was So Very Grateful.  A couple of weeks ago, I was playing around with the stamps and came up with this card – I liked it so well, it became part of my Valentine’s Day Class!

I started with a card base of Very Vanilla.  I layered Blushing Bride cardstock over Cherry Cobbler and ran them through my Big Shot with the second smallest die from the Hearts Collection Framelits.  The sandwich left an impression on the Blushing Bride layer that I used as a template to lay down a fine line of glitter glue then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over that.

I stamped the corner floral image from So Very Grateful in Versamark and heat embossed it with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  The Flower centers were accented with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details. The Cherry Cobbler/Blushing Bride panels were adhered together and popped up with Dimensionals.  The stamp in the center of the hearts is from the Best Of Love set.  The card was finished off with a rhinestone in the center image.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you – tell someone you love them today!!

Hearts A Flutter Valentine

IMG_2475I just love how Stampin Up is grouping products together in their catalogs to create product suites.  It makes it even easier to make beautiful cards when all I need to do is start out with things that already coordinate with each other!

I created this card for a Spring Mini swap and used lots of stuff from the More Amore Suite.  See the large, lacy Primrose Petals heart on the left side?  That was snipped from the laser-cut sheet that comes with the More Amore designer series paper!  Then I stamped the lacy heart from the Hearts a Flutter set in Versamark and embossed it with Pool Party embossing powder and stamped the ‘hearts’ heart from the same set in Real Red to create the stamped layers.  Here are the ingredients for this card:

Card stock:  Pool party, Very Vanilla, More Amore DSP

Stamps:  Hearts a Flutter, That’s the Ticket

Ink:  Versamark, Real Red, Primrose Petals, Pool Party

Accessories:  Clear & Pool Party Embossing Powder; 5/8″ Flower Trim; Ticket Duo Builder Punch, Homemade Shimmer Spray, Pool Party 1/4″ Satin Ribbon (a Sale-A-Bration award from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack)

Sale-A-Bration is in full swing!  You won’t want to miss out on all the wonderful things you can get for FREE!!  Place an order today or call me to book your workshop.  Don’t forget, for each $50 in merchandise, not only will you be able to choose a Sale-A-Bration award, but you will earn a chance for a free clear-mount Oh Hello stamp set just from me…

Hope you have a terriffic Tuesday, and take some time to be creative!

Happy Birthday, Jen!

IMG_2471Ask anyone who knows her and they will tell you my daughter is a complete fan of anything new, funky, and unusual.  She has found her calling as a Nail Technician, and embraces art and style in both her job and her personal life.  As much as she is a fan of most anything contemporary, her mama knows that she’s still a girly girl deep down inside.  She’ll always be my baby, and I love her with all my heart and soul…

Its a tradition that I make part of her birthday present an over-the-top Wow! card, and this one is what I gave her this year.  Of course, the lace and flowers show off the girly side, but I managed to get a little contemporary with the chevron embossing and bottle caps.  What do you think?  Did I capture her spirit?

Here’s what I used:

Cardstock:  Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Tea for Two DSP

Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes

Ink:  Calypso Coral

Accessories:  Artisan Embellishments Kit; 5/8″ Flower Trim; Soda Pop Tops; Linen Thread; Pearls Basic Jewels; Chevron Embossing Folder; Bitty Butterfly Punch

All items are available in my Online Store

Want to play with some of the new items from the Spring Mini Catalog?  I’ve just added a bunch of events to my calendar – look in either the left sidebar or my calendar page for details.  February classes are posted, March classes will be up soon!  I’d love to share the fun – come stamp with me!!
