Welcome to our August Blog Hop! You may have hopped over after seeing Diana’s cute project, but if you’re just joining us, please take a minute and see what the rest of the Di’s Country INKers have for you!
This month, we have chosen to highlight the Big Shot and the ‘Buy a Big Shot Get a Bundle’ promotion. Through August 31, get an exclusive Framelits and Stamp Set Bundle for FREE when you purchase a Big Shot. Or, if you already own a Big Shot, get a 15 percent discount on select bundles. Check it out here!
One of the perks of attending Convention this year was that we were able to buy and take home product from the Holiday Catalog. One of the first things I jumped on (and will be available as one of the promo freebies!) is the Bright and Beautiful Stars bundle. The stamp set is called Bright and Beautiful, and it coordinates with the Stars Framelits – here’s the first card I made with the set. I started out CASE-ing the sample from the catalog, but remembered that I wanted to try Blackberry Bliss accented with gold and red in some of my Christmas cards this year. I’m loving it! I started with a base of Brushed Gold cardstock layered with Blackberry Bliss. I did some heat embossing over Brushed Gold and Shimmer White cardstock for the stars and colored the rhinestones with my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities marker.
I experimented a little with the embossing powder and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to white which is what I used on the bottom and top stars. It’s hard to photograph sparkly stuff, but this might give you the idea…
Photos, of course, just can’t capture all the sparkle and shine. You’ll just have to come over and see the card for yourself…
Thank you so much for stopping by -it was lovely visiting with you today. Now, off you go to see what Kathya has made!

It’s been a whirlwind week! Seems like I just got here and its already time to go back home. I shopped, I played, I ate (waaay too much), and I stayed up way too late. I learned, I’ve been inspired, and I am coming home full of ideas ready to hit the ground running. But the most valuable thing I get out of Convention week is the reconnection with all the dear friends that I’ve made over the years through this business. Yes, we stamp and share ideas and business tips, but its really the connections that I love the most. I may not see these incredible women for a year at a time, but as soon as we get that first hug, it’s as though no time at all passed. My stomach muscles have gotten a real work-out from nearly constant laughter. New inside jokes have been formed and will have to sustain me until we meet again. Today I must say farewell to my Stampin’ family, but they will never be far from my thoughts. And Melissa, if I hear you sing the Brown Chicken, Brown Cow song one more time…
Love you guys! Until next year…
Welcome to our July Blog Hop! Perhaps you have arrived here from Diana Gibbs’ blog, but If you’re just joining us, we invite you to hop along! This month we were challenged to come up with anything Patriotic or Red, White and Blue. Enter the Maritime Designer Series Paper pack – one of my very favorites from the new catalog. There’s just something appealing about it’s crisp clean designs, and I knew it was what I wanted to work with for this month’s Hop. But I was at a bit of a loss for just what to actually do with it. That is until I saw this week’s Cas(e) This Sketch winner by Amy Sheffler. Loved it’s simplicity and I knew that would do just fine for me! So I got out my Banner Framelits and my Star Punch and went to town. I thought the stars needed a little ‘jazzing’ up, so I took my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities marker and colored some Rhinestones red – cool, eh? Here’s a closer look…
For the greeting, I used photopolymer stamps that came with the June My Paper Pumpkin kit. (What? You haven’t subscribed yet? You can sign up at www.mypaperpumpkin.com but don’t forget to select me as your demonstrator!)
So, have you heard the big news? Several of the color families of the Blendabilities have been released today for you to purchase! When you’re done hopping with us, hop on over to my online store and get your favorite colors. Choose from Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, or the Skin Tone Assortment. The rest of the color families will be available to you in August.
Also available to you today is the Color Lifter and The Memento Ink Pad and Refill! The Memento Ink Pad is a must with the Blendies – water-based inks like our Classic Pads and Staz-On will turn your projects into a muddy mess. You have to work with a dye ink like Memento with these markers. Good news, though – you don’t need any special paper. Whisper White does a fantastic job!
And now it’s time to send you over to see what Mary has for you. If you get lost, I’ve listed all of this month’s players below. Thanks for stopping by – enjoy the rest of the hop!!

Today’s project was something I ‘sort of’ CASE’d from Stampin’ Up’s new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog (You know, the one that just went live?!) On page 240, they show a set of cards in a stamped clear box. I loved the combination of the dark ink on the Blackberry Bliss cardstock, and I also loved the white flowered overlay. I wondered if I could recreate that look on a card. So I started with a base of Basic Black, and stamped the large flower from the Bloom With Hope hostess set in black ink. Loving it so far, now to get the white flowers. I thought about heat embossing with Whisper White embossing powder, but decided that would be too bold; I was after a little softer look. Then it came to me – use White StazOn with the flower/bud combo, also from Bloom With Hope! It came out exactly as I had envisioned, and the white flowers look like they’re floating over the dark ones – very cool effect… I finished it off with a greeting from the same stamp set, and a little of the 3/4″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Mossy Meadow – great color combo!! (This year’s In-Colors are just beautiful…) This year’s catalog is stuffed full of ideas and inspiration for you to play with. Do yourself a favor and get your copy today. Send me an e-mail and I’ll get one out to you right away. All it’ll cost you is the postage, and that’s refunded with your $50.00 order!
I want to start today’s post by wishing Bob and Cheryl, my dear Brother and Sister-In-Law a very Happy Anniversary! We love you both, and hope you celebrate many, many more anniversaries!
Today is the start of a brand new stamping year at Stampin’ Up! The 2014-2015 Annual Catalog goes live in just about an hour from now, and this is one release you won’t want to miss! They have done a wonderful job with this year’s layout, and one of my most favorite features is the inclusion of a greetings and alphabet set index complete with pictures! They’ve also brought back the accessory index – such useful tools for finding just what you’re looking for amongst all the new stamps and products…
Being a demonstrator means being able to pre-order selected products from the catalog before it goes live. A couple of the first things I played with are the Blended Bloom stamp and the Blendabilities markers, along with the new (gorgeous!) In-Colors. Today’s card starts with a base of Hello Honey with a layer of Mossy Meadow that’s been stamped with Blended Bloom in Black Memento Ink. A piece of the 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon was attached then wrapped with a bit of Metallic Baker’s twine. The piece is completed with a Blended Bloom flower that’s been colored with the Blendabilities markers in shades of Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. Another cool thing the ‘Blendas’ do is color your Rhinestones and Pearls! Check it out…
We’ve been told that the Blendabilities markers are not quite ready to release with today’s Catalog launch, but are coming sometime in late June or early July. As a demonstrator, however, you can get your hands on them right away, and by taking advantage of the $50 sign-up special, these markers can be part of your starter kit. Interested? Get in touch with me and let’s talk about it…
If you are in need of a copy of the Catalog for your very own, I’ll be happy to send you one – no charge for the catalog, you just need to cover the cost of the postage, but I’ll refund that back to you on your first order of $50 or more…
I’m off to check my wish list – have a fun and productive Monday!
Welcome to this month’s Di’s Country INKers blog hop! You’ve probably hopped on over from the fabulous Diana Gibbs. Wasn’t her project fun?!
Our theme this month is ‘Anything That’s New’ from the about-to-be-released 2014-2015 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that we get to start playing with brand spankin’ new product a month before the catalog releases, and today I’ve chosen to show you the new Sea Street stamp set and coordinating Maritime Designer Series Paper – take a look!
I am absolutely in love with the classic Real Red, Whisper White and Night of Navy with a little Coastal Cabana color scheme in this DSP pack! Both the DSP and the Sea Street stamp set can be used in masculine nautical-themed projects as well as for whimsical kids cards with the cute star fish, and a smiling octopus.
I first saw this stamp set at the Catalog Premier Party in April.(Another perk of being a demonstrator..) I was sitting next to my new stampin’ friend, Trenna. Of course, we were ooh-ing and aah-ing over all the new stuff we were being shown. When this set appeared, I said, “Oh my gosh, look at those cute crabs!!” Trenna leaned over and whispered, “Um, Barb, those are lobsters…” Well, this gave us both a fit of the giggles and just like laughing in church, made it all the funnier. So naturally, the first card I made with this set HAD to have some of the crabs, I mean lobsters on it! Ha..
The Sea Street stamp set and Maritime DSP will be available for you to order tomorrow at noon (mountain time) when the catalog goes live! If you don’t already have your copy, give me a holler. The catalog is free, you just need to cover the postage, but if you place an order of $50 or more, I’ll refund you the postage!
Thanks for spending a little time with me today! Now off you go to see what Kathya has in store for you! If you get lost at any time, the links to all of the participants are below.
