Sum, Sum, Summertime, Summertime, Summertime… Ok, I’ll admit it. I’m one of those annoying people that starts humming when something reminds me of a song or lyrics – ha! Anyway, that’s what I started singing when we decided on the theme for the August Blog Hop with Di’s Country INKers. So now you know the rest of the story.
So perhaps you just arrived from Di’s blog, or maybe you’re just joining us. Either way, we’re awfully glad you’re hoppin’ with us today! Today’s card is from one of my recent TLC classes (Technique Lover’s Class). It’s a Triptych card which uses a single image that is divided into three panels to create a focal point. Instead of using a stamped image for this card, we used a piece of the English Garden Designer Series Paper which was divided and mounted on a Night of Navy mat. A second mat of Whisper White is layered behind that and it’s all popped up with dimensionals onto a Hello Honey card base. We used the Triple Banner Punch to create the tag for the greeting. The bee is from the Garden In Bloom stamp set, and the ‘Thanks’ is from the Cottage Greetings set. We stamped the bee with Night of Navy and colored his little body in with a Hello Honey marker. A touch of summer sunshine was added with a knot of 1/8″ Gold Ribbon. Have you noticed how the Garden In Bloom set coordinates with the English Garden DSP pack? These are easily my very favorite items from the Annual Catalog. Uh-oh – I feel another song coming on (Let me tell you ’bout the birds and the bees and the flowers and the trees…)
Ok, so now that I’ve given you an earworm for the day, it’s time to send you off to see what Mary has to show you. Thanks for stopping by today – hope you have a great rest of your day!

Here’s a close-up of one of the cards I made for July’s Creative Circle blog hop. I used the Guy Greetings stamp set for a clean and simple design that can be used for any occasion. I purposely left a greeting off the front as I don’t yet know who I’ll send this one to. You can see, however, that it really could be used for most anything – that’s how versatile this set is!
I started with a base of Early Espresso card stock and layered a 5 1/4″ x 4″ Early Espresso panel that was embossed with the new Boho Chic folder. The next layer is from the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper pack over Early Espresso. For the top layer, I stamped the hats from Guy Greetings three times in Early Espresso onto Crumb Cake card stock and added another Early Espresso mat beneath. A knot of Early Espresso seam binding finishes it off.
This card was part of a set that I made to go with Liz Holloway’s FREE Murse pattern. If you haven’t gotten your copy yet, head on over to get yours!
Make sure to come back August 5th for another Creative Circle Blog Hop for a chance to win the next 3D pattern that we’ll be using in the hop!

Th
It’s here! Our very first Creative Circle Blog Hop! Over the past couple of months, I have had the honor of working with a group of amazingly talented demonstrators to form the Creative Circle Design Team. Liz Holloway, the pioneer of this group, is crazy-good at designing 3D paper crafted items. Each of our blog hop projects will feature one of her 3D designs made with our own spin on it along with a group of coordinating cards using Stampin’ Up! products. So without further ado, here’s my take on Liz’s Murse card keeper box!
Since a Murse is a bag that guys carry, I thought the Guy Greetings stamp set was a natural for this project. Paired with Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper gives this project an overall masculine feel. Stop by over the next few days and I’ll have a recipe with a close-up view of each item in this project.
Do you believe in saving the best for last? I do, and I am super excited to tell you that Liz is offering the pattern and the video tutorial for this Murse box absolutely free! Here’s how:
Pattern is available for download here.
And here’s a video on how it’s made!

If this was your first stop on the hop, make sure to go back and see what Sandy made, then head over to Fran’s page for more work with the Murse!
Thanks so much for visiting. Please do come back later this week for close-ups of each of my cards and the Murse.

Jul 1, 2015 | 2015, Blog Hops, My Paper Pumpkin |
Woohoo! Time for another Di’s Country INKers blog hop! This month we are focusing on Celebrations, and one of my favorites is the 4th of July! Family gatherings, barbecues, fireworks – I love everything about the 4th! This year we, as a nation, have an awful lot to celebrate as well. My project today has no stamping on it whatsoever. I know, weird, huh?
Several months ago I saw an alternate project using last year’s My Paper Pumpkin ‘Pinwheel Party’ kit that I just loved, (it was done by Peanuts and Peppers Papercrafting) but I had used up all the supplies that came in mine a long time ago. No problem! One of the perks of being a My Paper Pumpkin subscriber, is that I am able to purchase refills of some of the past kits. This one is still available for now, but it’s about to be retired soon. All you need to do is subscribe not only will you get a great kit each month, but you too will have access to some seriously cool past kits.
I covered a foam wreath with some navy blue satin ribbon from my stash, and then went to town making pinwheels and hot glue-ing them onto my wreath. It needed just a little more pizazz, so I got out my Big Shot and the Stars Framelits and made some multi-layered stars to tuck between the pinwheels using Real Red, Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and Night of Navy cardstock. Some large rhinestones finished them off.
I wish I knew a trick for getting glittery things to photograph better, but here’s a close-up of one of the layered stars. It’s so sparkly! (I must be hanging out with my Granddaughter too much – I just heard that last sentence in Lil’ Agnes’ voice from the Minions… lol)
And speaking of sparkly… My daughter gave me a great mani this morning! My fingers and toes are all ready for this Saturday’s celebrations as well. Thanks, Jen – Love It!! Mwah!
Thank you so much for joining me. Hope you enjoyed todays’ project – now off you go to see what Crystal is celebrating. And in case you just joined us, make sure you go back to see what Diana has for you. If you get lost at any time, all our hoppers are listed below.

Jun 1, 2015 | 2015, Blog Hops, Masculine |

Wow – I can’t believe the way this year is flying by! Here it is June already, and our thoughts are turning to Father’s Day and how we will honor all those special men in our lives that we hold dear. This is a tough time of year for our family as we lost my Dad to cancer nearly six years ago. Sure wish I could send a special card via snail mail to heaven, for that’s surely where he is right now. I do still have lots of great guys in my life; my dear husband, my brothers, and my son-in-law to be – all hard-working, caring, loving men and shining examples of Fatherhood. They will each be getting a special card from me letting them know how much I appreciate all they do for us.
If you haven’t seen it yet, Guy Greetings is a really versatile stamp set for masculine cards. It first appeared in the Occasions mini catalog, and is being carried over into the new Annual Catalog when it launches on Tuesday. When I first saw the ‘muscle man’ in this set, I really wasn’t sure I wanted it, but now that I’ve been using the stamps, I’ve come to realize how much I can do with the set! The ‘Righty-Tighty, Lefty Loosey’ greeting and tools would have been perfect for my Dad. (I still get a chuckle when I’m loosening a screw and can hear Dad’s voice giving me direction on which way to turn the screwdriver. Darn it all if that wouldn’t have made an absolutely perfect card for him!) For this card, I used an example in the Occasions catalog as a springboard for my design. I changed up the colors and added a few layers and embellishments to take it up a notch. I gotta warn you, though, pairing the new in-color Mint Macaron with Early Espresso will get you thinking of a yummy Ande’s chocolate mint. I found myself fighting the urge to run to the store for some. Ha!
So, off you go then to see what Kathya has to show you, and if you haven’t already seen Diana’s project, you can hop back to her blog. If at any time you get turned around, you can see a list of our hoppers below. A complete list of products used on this card follows!

May 1, 2015 | 2015, Blog Hops, Occasions Catalog |
Welcome to another edition of Di’s Country INKers blog hop! Hope you enjoyed Diana’s project – she always has something fun…
The card I chose to show you today was inspired by one that Kay Kalthoff from Stamping to Share did as a swap for last year’s Convention. I’ve had it tucked away for quite some time in my ‘inspiration’ file and recently ran across it again. Loved it then and love it still! The only thing I needed to change was the sentiment and voila! I had an absolutely adorable Mother’s Day card…
This one begins with a tent fold card base of Whisper White to which I added a 3/4″ strip of Back to Black Designer Series Paper on either side. a 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ layer of Whisper White was punched with the 2 1/2″ circle punch and stamped with a greeting from the Mother’s Love stamp set which can be found in the Occasions Mini catalog. I used the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder to complete the layer. The center flower is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink with a stamp from the Flower Patch set. The die-cut flower was done with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a die from the Flower Fair framelits. It was finished off with a black Candy Dot. Super quick, super easy, and super cute!
Ok, off you go to see what Kathya has in store for you. Thank you so much for hopping along with us. I, myself am off to browse the soon-to-be-released 2015-2016 Annual Catalog! One of the best perks of being a demonstrator is getting an advance look at what’s in store for us for the coming year and getting my hands on brand-new product weeks ahead of the official release date! Would you like to take a peek? Join my team and starting May 5th, you can load your starter kit with pre-order items! Tempting, eh? Give me a call and let’s talk about it…

In case you get lost, here is a list of this month’s hoppers. We always hope we can delight you with our projects, if we did, please let us know!
