Blended Bloom Pergamano

beelinestamping.com-July Technique ClassSo, can you tell by now that I’m really liking the combination of Blackberry Bliss and Mellow Moss   er Mossy Meadow?  (Dang – I’m still having trouble with the name of this cardstock!  LOL)

This month’s Technique Lover’s Class (TLC) was Pergamano.  In centuries previous, artists used to hand sketch an image on parchment paper before etching or piercing it.  Today, we have the benefit of working with stamps to create our initial images.  Here we used the Blended Bloom stamp, heat embossed on Vellum cardstock with white embossing powder. Then using the stylus from the Simply Scored Tool and a piercing mat we ‘etched’  in the flower petals on the reverse side.  The process stretches the vellum and gives a life-like shape and a softer look to the stamped image.   Once the etching was complete, we fussy cut the flower and adhered it to the card base using a glue dot in the center of the flower.  To camouflage the glue dot on the front, we added a large pearl in the center.    Another piece of vellum was dry embossed with the scallop from the Delicate Designs pack and once again adhered with glue dots which were concealed with pearls.  The sentiment is from Blooming With Kindness and was stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  This card was inspired by a similar one done by the talented Donna Centamore!

Heading off to the stamp room tomorrow to play with some of my new goodies from the Holiday Mini Catalog that I was able to bring home from Convention.  My only problem will be what to work with first – everything in there is THAT good!

Ok – gotta head out and pick up my Hubby from the train station – It’s pouring rain here (at last!)

Laters!

Blended Bloom Anniversary and Catalog Release

beelinestamping.com-blended bloom anniversaryI want to start today’s post by wishing Bob and Cheryl, my dear Brother and Sister-In-Law  a very Happy Anniversary!  We love you both, and hope you celebrate many, many more anniversaries!

Today is the start of a brand new stamping year at Stampin’ Up!  The 2014-2015 Annual Catalog goes live in just about an hour from now, and this is one release you won’t want to miss!  They have done a wonderful job with this year’s layout, and one of my most favorite features is the inclusion of a greetings and alphabet set index complete with pictures!  They’ve also brought back the accessory index – such useful tools for finding just what you’re looking for amongst all the new stamps and products…

Being a demonstrator means being able to pre-order selected products from the catalog before it goes live.  A couple of the first things I played with are the Blended Bloom stamp and the Blendabilities markers, along with the new (gorgeous!) In-Colors.  Today’s card starts with a base of Hello Honey with a layer of Mossy Meadow that’s been stamped with Blended Bloom in Black Memento Ink.  A piece of the 3/8″ Stitched Satin ribbon was attached then wrapped with a bit of Metallic Baker’s twine.  The piece is completed with a Blended Bloom flower that’s been colored with the Blendabilities markers in shades of Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie. Another cool thing the ‘Blendas’ do is color your Rhinestones and Pearls!  Check it out…beelinestamping.com-blended bloom anniversary 1

We’ve been told that the Blendabilities markers are not quite ready to release with today’s Catalog launch, but are coming sometime in late June or early July.  As a demonstrator, however, you can get your hands on them right away, and by taking advantage of the $50 sign-up special, these markers can be part of your starter kit.  Interested?  Get in touch with me and let’s talk about it…

If you are in need of a copy of the Catalog for your very own, I’ll be happy to send you one – no charge for the catalog, you just need to cover the cost of the postage, but I’ll refund that back to you on your first order of $50 or more…

I’m off to check my wish list – have a fun and productive Monday!
