Welcome to another Di’s Country INKers blog hop in which we are featuring Christmas and New Year’s projects. If you’ve hopped over from Di’s post, welcome! We’ve got lots of stops for you this month…
My project today was completely inspired by fellow demonstrator Kathryn Simpson from the UK. I was so bowled over by it that I had to re-create it for myself! Have a peek…
This Christmas Village was made with the Stampin’ Up! Hometown Greetings Edgelits Die set and Whisper White cardstock. The background was heat embossed with the santa & reindeers, stars, and the crescent moon stamp from the Hearts Come Home stamp set, then sponged over with Marina Mist and Night of Navy ink. Each row in the village was done by making an initial die cut, then sliding the die left or right as needed and making a second die cut to complete that row. LED fairy lights are adhered with glue dots beneath the houses to illuminate them. Foam adhesive strips were used to adhere the layers and create spacing between the rows. The final touch was lots of Dazzling Diamonds glitter. (Yes, I sparkled for days!) The scene was then mounted inside a shadow box I found at my local craft store.
Everyone I’ve showed this to had the same reaction as I did – Wow!! In fact, I’ve gotten a few orders for them already – can you guess what I’ll be working on this weekend?
Thank you so much for stopping by today – I hope you enjoy the rest of the projects on today’s hop. If you get lost, the list of hoppers below will get you back on track. Now, off you go to see what my dear friend Ellie has to show you today!
