It’s beginning to feel very much like fall in my neck of the woods, and I finally feel like playing with my Halloween stamps. Good thing – ’cause that’s the theme of our Blog Hop this month! If you’ve arrived from Di’s blog, c’mon in for a visit; and if you’re just joining us, grab a cup of Witch’s Brew and hop along with us…

The Witches’ Night stamp set was designed to coordinate with the Witching Décor Project Kit, but it’s a great set to use with other projects as well! I used several of the images in today’s card. I began with a base of Tangelo Twist. The next layer is Blackberry Bliss that’s been randomly stamped in Basic Black with the spider web and flying bat images from the set. A Spider Web Doily was layered on top of that. I stamped the Trick or Treat focal piece in Versamark ink on Whisper White and heat embossed it with black powder. A second image was stamped and heat embossed and I fussy cut the raven and layered it over the original image with dimensionals. The ’31’ was punched from the second piece with the 3/4″ punch popped up, and colored in with the Tangelo Twist marker. I love the way the black embossing is shiny -makes me think of trick-or-treating on a chilly, dark, rainy, night! I matted the focal image on one of the leftover pieces from the Witch Hat kit. The kit, unfortunately, has sold out, but I think I’ve made a pretty good case for using the stamp set for other projects!

Here’s a closer view of the focal image. I wanted to use the Lots of Labels framelits to cut it out so that it matched the mat, but I didn’t want to cut the Raven’s foot off. (ewwww!) So I positioned the framelit over the image and traced around the inside, then fussy cut it so I didn’t have to cripple the poor bird! LOL…
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Now, off you go to see what Kathya is going to haunt you with. An ingredient list is below and in case you get lost in the dark, a list of all our hoppers is also below. Happy Halloween!!

Sep 4, 2015 | 2015, Blog Hops, Creative Circle |

Today, the Creative Circle design team is featuring another of Liz’s fabulous 3D patterns – this time it’s a backpack. So appropriate as all the kids in my neighborhood have just gone back to school! Here’s my ensemble:
I’m a complete Vera Bradley freak. In fact, I have two of their backpacks. I just love all their floral patterns and the English Garden designer series paper pack really reminds me of Vera Bradley fabric. I thought it was a good fit for my backpack ensemble.
Liz’s pattern has the flap and buckle on the front. However, while working with it, I thought it would look nice with a pocket on the front, so I created a small gift card envelope using the Envelope Punch Board and attached it to my backpack. Wouldn’t this make a nice teacher’s gift? A Starbucks card in the pocket and some mini note cards with envelopes inside – what teacher wouldn’t like that? Another thing the front pocket could hold would be some postage stamps – convenient to mail out the cards inside, eh?
If this looks like a lot of work to put together, let me tell you, it was a snap! Liz’s pattern comes in both .pdf so you can hand cut it, and .svg to be used on an e-cutter. There’s also a video tutorial showing you exactly how all the pieces are assembled. Easy!
Would you like to win a copy of the pattern? Leave me a comment and tell me about one of your favorite memories of being in school. On Sept 20th, I will pick a winner at random and Liz will send you a link for your free copy!
Can’t wait until then? Go ahead and order yours today. The pattern with video is just $3.99 and can be found here
Go ahead – you know you want to!!

Ok, off you go now to see how Sandy decorated her backpack. Thank you so much for hopping with us today! I hope you have a happy and safe Labor Day weekend.

“Hey! Look me over! Tell me do u like what u see…” So this card has been hanging around my studio for a week or so and that’s the earworm that’s been running thru my head every time I look at it. And now it’s in your head – you’re welcome! Aren’t you glad you hopped over from Diana’s blog? Ha!
Our theme this month celebrates Fall and Back to School. Now I have to let you in on a little secret… I’m usually the gal that suggests the monthly theme for our blog hop, and I’m the one who threw ‘Back to School’ out there. So I sat down to create my card, and came to the abrupt realization that I have absolutely zero school-related stamps in my collection. In fact, I have very few sets that would even be appropriate for kids! (Doh!) I had a moment of panic until I stumbled upon my Pictogram Punches stamp set and saw the ‘You’re a Star’ sentiment. I had an embossed piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock on my desk and went searching for a patterned paper to fit the theme and turned to my Cherry on Top DSP Stack. Things were starting to gel, but the card just wasn’t doing it for me yet- it needed something else. But what… That’s when I dusted off my Owl Builder punch and made a hooty little scholar to dress things up! Some embellishing with the help of Bermuda Bay sequins and the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers gave it the finishing touch.
Dang! I’m still humming the song – I think it’s about time to pull out the Purple Rain soundtrack. Still one of my fav’s after all these years. You’d better head over to Kathya’s blog before I start singing… ;-D
