Hello’s and Goodbye’s

imageimageIt’s been a whirlwind week!  Seems like I just got here and its already time to go back home.  I shopped, I played, I ate (waaay too much), and I stayed up way too late. I learned, I’ve been inspired, and I am coming home full of ideas ready to hit the ground running. But the most valuable thing I get out of Convention week is the reconnection with all the dear friends that I’ve made over the years through this business. Yes, we stamp and share ideas and business tips, but its really the connections that I love the most. I may not see these incredible women for a year at a time, but as soon as we get that first hug, it’s as though no time at all passed. My stomach muscles have gotten a real work-out from nearly constant laughter. New inside jokes have been formed and will have to sustain me until we meet again. Today I must say farewell to my Stampin’ family, but they will never be far from my thoughts. And Melissa, if I hear you sing the Brown Chicken, Brown Cow song one more time…

Love you guys! Until next year…

Di’s Country INKers July Blog Hop

July Blog Hop-001Welcome to our July Blog Hop!  Perhaps you have arrived here from Diana Gibbs’ blog, but If you’re just beelinestamping.com-July Blog Hopjoining us, we invite you to hop along!  This month we were challenged to come up with anything Patriotic or Red, White and Blue.  Enter the Maritime Designer Series Paper pack – one of my very favorites from the new catalog.  There’s just something appealing about it’s crisp clean designs, and I knew it was what I wanted to work with for this month’s Hop.  But I was at a bit of a loss for just what to actually do with it.  That is until I saw this week’s Cas(e) This Sketch winner by Amy Sheffler.  Loved it’s simplicity and I knew that would do just fine for me!  So I got out my Banner Framelits and my Star Punch and went to town.  I thought the stars needed a little ‘jazzing’ up, so I took my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities marker and colored some Rhinestones red – cool, eh?  Here’s a closer look…

For the greeting, I used photopolymer stamps that came with the June My Paper Pumpkin kit.  (What?  You haven’t subscribed yet?  You can sign up at www.mypaperpumpkin.com but don’t forget to select me as your demonstrator!)

So, have you heard the big news?  Several of the color families of the Blendabilities have been released today for you to purchase!  When you’re done hopping with us, hop on over to my online store and get your favorite colors.  Choose from Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, or the Skin Tone Assortment.  The rest of the color families will be available to you in August.

Also available to you today is the Color Lifter and The Memento Ink Pad and Refill!  The Memento Ink Pad is a must with the Blendies – water-based inks like our Classic Pads and Staz-On will turn your projects into a muddy mess.  You have to work with a dye ink like Memento with these markers.  Good news, though – you don’t need any special paper.  Whisper White does a fantastic job!

And now it’s time to send you over to see what Mary has for you.  If you get lost, I’ve listed all of this month’s players below.  Thanks for stopping by – enjoy the rest of the hop!!July Next

Bloom With Hope Catalog CASE

beelinestamping.com-bloom with hope catty CASEToday’s project was something I ‘sort of’ CASE’d from Stampin’ Up’s new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog (You know, the one that just went live?!) On page 240, they show a set of cards in a stamped clear box.  I loved the combination of the dark ink on the Blackberry Bliss cardstock, and I also loved the white flowered overlay.  I wondered if I could recreate that look on a card.  So I started with a base of Basic Black, and stamped the large flower from the Bloom With Hope hostess set in black ink.  Loving it so far, now to get the white flowers.  I thought about heat embossing with Whisper White embossing powder, but decided that would be too bold; I was after a little softer look.  Then it came to me – use White StazOn with the flower/bud combo, also from Bloom With Hope!  It came out exactly as I had envisioned, and the white flowers look like they’re floating over the dark ones – very cool effect…  I finished it off with a greeting from the same stamp set, and a little of the 3/4″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Mossy Meadow – great color combo!! (This year’s In-Colors are just beautiful…) This year’s catalog is stuffed full of ideas and inspiration for you to play with.  Do yourself a favor and get your copy today.  Send me an e-mail and I’ll get one out to you right away.  All it’ll cost you is the postage, and that’s refunded with your $50.00 order!
