Joyful Christmas Embossed Vellum

www.beelinestamping.com-Joyful Christmas1Joyful Christmas  (#131805) was one of the first sets from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog that I just HAD to have.  I got a chance to play with it this week and here’s the first card I came up with.  The simple color combination of Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White sets the stage for the beautiful poinsettia which was stamped twice in Versamark ink on White Vellum Cardstock (#101856)  I made a custom mix of  White embossing powder (#109132) and Silver Stampin’ Glitter (#132205) and heat embossed the poinsettia.  I then cut out one full flower, and one with the smaller flower petals and layered them over two panels of Whisper White cardstock – the top one was embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder (#117335).  The bottom panel was stamped with the greeting from Joyful Christmas (#131805) and stamped in Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Ink (#126857) with a snowflake from the Endless Wishes Photopolymer set (#133455).  A piece of Cherry Cobbler seam binding (#120992) was used to conceal the seams in the panels.  The last touch was to add some Champagne Glass Glitter (#120997) to the center of the flower.

www.beelinestamping.com-JoyfulChristmas2Sure wish the camera could capture how pretty the silver glitter on the poinsettia actually is.  It kind of looks like dark speckles in the photos, but believe me when I tell you it is stunning in real life!  Oh, and did I mention how much I love the soft shimmer of the Illuminate ink on almost any color cardstock?!

Alrighty then – now that I’ve had some quality play time in my studio, I get to go figure out what’s clogging my vacuum cleaner – I really need to deglitterfy (yes, that is a word…) the desk and floor!

Have a great week!  I’ll have some more Christmas cards for you in a day or two using the Endless Wishes Photopolymer stamp set.

Sweater Weather Fall Wreath

beelinestamping.com-fall wreath 2

I’ve been seeing ‘curled paper’ wreaths a lot in the last couple of months and decided I’d like to give it a try.  I started out with a foam wreath found at a local big box store (Jo’s) and about six sheets of Stampin’ Up! Sweater Weather Designer Series Paper #132184 (which I am in love with!) I cut each sheet into 1/2″ strips, then took my bone folder and pulled the strips across just like you’d do with curling ribbon – so easy!  It took a little while to curl all the strips, but I worked on them while watching television with the hubs.  First, I attached some of the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (#132140) to the wreath with sticky strip, and wound a little twine around it.  Each curled piece is then held in place with a straight pin.  Again, it took a little time to pin them all onto the wreath base, but I really loved the way it was shaping up.  It still needed a little something, so I embossed a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock with the Houndstooth folder (#123134)  To that, I added the ‘Thankful’ which I cut from a Gold Foil Sheet (#132622) using one of the Expressions Thinlits Dies (#132171) and some leaves that I cut from Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, and Chocolate Chip cardstock and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die (#127812)  The button is retired from a few years ago…

So, my front door is ready for Thanksgiving – now on to the rest of the house!  I’m still in the process of moving all my ‘toys’ into my new Studio, but I’ll have more on that in a few days when I’ve finished!

Thanks for visiting today, and as always, these products and a whole lot more are available in my online store
