New Year, New Catalog Blog Hop

Happy New Year!  The start of the year is an exciting time for a lot of the usual reasons, but for me, it means the beginning of the brand-new Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration begins.  It’s also the theme of this month’s blog hop.  If you’ve come from Di’s blog, I’m certain you loved her project.  If you are just joining us, welcome!

Last week, some of my dear friends came over for a little Holiday celebration and, of course, some stamping.  One of the things we did was a shoe box swap which is where each participant designs a card, then prepares a kit for the others to make her card.  The card kits, tools, and embellishments are then put into a small box which gets passed from person to person to make that card.  I just love seeing what everyone comes up with!  Anyway, this card was the one I designed for the swap.

I began with a Basic Black card base and added a 5 1/4″ x 4″ layer of Whisper White.  Next is a Basic Black panel measuring 5 1/4 x 1 3/4″ and that is layered with a 5 1/8 x 1 5/8″ panel from the Pop of Pink DSP pack found in the Annual Catalog.  The 3 1/2 x 2 1/8″ patterned paper behind the focal image is also from Pop of Pink.  The focal image from the Beautiful You set was stamped in Archival Black on a 3 1/4 x 1 7/8″ Whisper White.  Her dress was stamped with one of the ‘swooshes’ in Melon Mambo, and I colored her hat with a Melon Mambo marker.  The greeting is also from the same stamp set and was also stamped with Archival Black.  I added a few rhinestones next to the greeting so it had as much pizazz as the lady in the pink dress!

Make sure you have your Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs in hand – they go live on January 4th!  If you haven’t gotten your copies yet, please get in touch with me so we can fix that problem!

I know you’re going to love what Kathya has to show you – it’s always something fun!  Make sure you are scheduling some time in to be creative – it’s a lot cheaper than therapy!!

Christmas Hostess Gifts and Blog Hop

Welcome to the December 2016 Di’s Country INKers blog hop!  This month we are showcasing Christmas or New Year’s projects, and I just loved what Di had for us today – how about you?

Once all my Stamp-a-Stack, and Gift Tags classes are finished, my final holiday class of the year is always devoted to host/hostess gifts.  One of the sets we made in this year’s class was a wine bottle tag and matching card.  Take a look:beelinestamping-com-12-1-16a

When I sat down to design the projects for this class, so many color and embellishment options came to mind that it was difficult to settle on just one!  Emerald Envy and Real Red won the battle, and I’m really pleased with the way it turned out!  A little tip on how to apply adhesive to the red swirly die-cut piece that’s behind the tag greeting:  Squirt a little Tombow Multi glue on your silicone mat, then using a piece of sponge, dab the glue onto the back of the die cut!  Easy peasy, lots of control, and no oozing out the other side!

beelinestamping-com-12-1-16bI used the Real Red Glitter embossing powder for the greeting on both items.  This stuff is so pretty, and it kind of twinkles as you are heating it.  Here’s a close-up shot.  You can’t see the sparkle very well, but trust me, it’s beautiful in person!  It’s a cute close-up of the bells, though!  Ha!  A complete list of products used on this set (with links for online shopping) can be found below.

Stampin’ Up’s Year-End Closeout Sale begins today!  A selection of holiday retiring products, Clearance Rack items, and high-inventory catalog items are discounted up to 60%. Be sure to check out all the sale items in my Online Store!

The next stop on the hop is Ellie – be sure to leave her a little comment love!  Oh, and if you get lost after all that online shopping, this month’s hoppers are listed below as well!

October Challenge (a bit late!)

So, even though my (fabulous) upline, Di Gibbs, is thousands of miles away, we still have a very strong connection via phone, text, emails and Facebook.  Each month, we have an online Facebook meeting so that us out-of-towners can still interact with each other and be an active part of the team.  Works pretty well, actually!  Diana begins our meeting with a Facebook Live video presentation where she shows us how she made that month’s make-n-take project.  This is what she demonstrated in October…

Di then sends a packet of ‘card guts’ (all the pieces) for that month’s project.  We can then make the card exactly as she has done, or we can use them to create a different project.  While Di’s cards are always sweet just as they are, I like to put my own spin on them, so this is what I came up with this month.  What do you think?

I’ve been using the Cable Knit embossing folder on as many projects as I can – I just love it!  I was blown away when I first saw the deep 3D impression it leaves in the cardstock…  The Warmth & Cheer washi tape makes an equally strong statement on projects as well.

All the ingredients I used to make my card are listed below.  If you’re so inclined to shop (wink, wink) just click on the photo and you’ll go right to my online store.

Thanks for stopping by today, and have a great Thursday!
