Jul 1, 2018 | 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, Birthday, Blog Hops, Promotions |
Welcome to another Di’s Country INKers blog hop. In honor of our nation’s birthday, we have chosen to show projects that either reflect the 4th of July, or something Red, White, and Blue.
The Details
My card starts with a Blueberry Bushel base that’s layered with a piece of Watercolor Paper. I added a masking strip towards the top of the card to create the illusion that there is a layer there, and the flowers are behind the ‘layer’. I used the Abstract Impressions stamp set to create the lovely flowers. For the roses, I used Real Red ink and began with the ‘heaviest’ layer of the large flower image. I used an aqua painter to wet and spread the ink in a circular motion. Before the paper dried, I used the matching medium flower image and stamped in Real Red again. Finally, I used the lightest large flower image and stamped it over the first two layers with Cherry Cobbler. The smaller flowers were stamped with the heavier small flower stamp in Balmy Blue. The lighter small flower stamp was inked in Blueberry Bushel and stamped over the Balmy Blue, then rotated 1/4 turn and stamped again without re-inking. Really looks like there’s a layer there, eh? The ‘Happy Birthday’ is from The Perennial Birthday stamp set. It’s a little difficult to get crisp, even coverage when stamping on Watercolor Paper, so I used my Stamparatus and Balmy Blue ink to get the greeting to come out clearly. The final touches were a couple of pieces of Blueberry Bushel ribbon to further enhance the layer look above and below the greeting, as well as several Pearls in the centers of the blue flowers. So there you have it – my Red, White, and Blue card!

Boo! It’s time for a blog hop and this month we are featuring all things Halloween! Did Di’s project give you that haunted feeling? Ha!
My project was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Linda Callahan. It was the eyes peeking out from the left side of the card that got me and so I set out to CASE her spooky creation. Don’t know about you, but spiders generally creep me out and so I thought this was a perfect card for Halloween! I did change it up a bit to use spiders from the Jar of Haunts stamp set.
The brick wall background is from the Halloween Night Specialty DSP pack, and the jar is from Jar of Love. I can’t tell you how much I’m loving all the stamp sets that coordinate with existing stamp and framelit sets. Really helps stretch your stampin’ bucks!
Stampin’ Up! has two promos that begin today. The first, in honor of World Card-Making Day, offers several items at a discounted price – one of them is Fast Fuse adhesive! Time to stock up. A list of the sale items can be found here. This one only runs through October 5th, so get your orders in.
The second promo is Buy 3, Get One Free on DSP (Designer Series Paper) packs. This one starts today and runs through the end of the month. Two of the Christmas paper packs are included in the promo! The DSP packs that are eligible for the promo can be found on this flyer.
Hop back on the broom and we’ll send you over to see what Kathya is going to haunt you with. Thanks for stopping by – have a great weekend!

Oct 1, 2014 | 2014 Holiday Catalog, Blog Hops, Fall, Good Greetings |
Hi, and thanks for hopping along with us today! You may be just joining us, or, you may have been sent over from Kathya’s project. What did you think? Great stuff, eh?
Each month, we decide on a theme for our hop. For October, we thought we’d all do projects that relate to fall. We added a fun little twist this month, though. You see, our fabulous upline, Diana Gibbs, has been named to this year’s Advisory Board, and as a tribute to Diana’s accomplishments, we have each selected one of her past blog post
projects to CASE. I thought it would be appropriate to go back in the archives to the day that I joined the Stampin’ Up! family under Diana. So, let’s turn back the hands of time to June 22, 2010, and see what Diana was working with way back then:
So cute! Makes me want to run out to Coldstone and get something yummy… Of course, just about everything on that card has long since been retired, so I turned to the Color Me Autumn designer series paper along with stamps and matching Framelits from the Fall Fest set. Here’s my interpretation of Diana’s project:
I just love all the colors in this paper! With the assistance of the Fun Fall Framelits, this card came together in no time – so much easier and precise than fussy cutting, especially when you use the Big Shot Magnetic Platform!
Ok, now off you go to see what loveliness Crystal has in store for you. Thanks for stopping by today. If at any point you lose your place, the hoppers are listed below.
