Watercolor Pencils Challenge – You Decide

5/5/17 – Voting is now closed.  See the results here!

In one of my recent classes, we were working with the new Watercolor Pencils.  For the final project of the class, I issued a challenge to the attendees.  They stamped the daisy image from Helping Me Grow onto a piece of Watercolor Paper.  Using their new set of Watercolor Pencils, they took the piece home, colored the image, designed their own card, then sent me a photo of their card.  I must say, I’m impressed with each card, and I really cannot decide which I like best.  So I have decided to let you, dear readers, decide the winner of the challenge.  Leave me a comment with your vote for the winner, and you may be a winner yourself!  Everyone who votes will be entered into a drawing for the Marquee Messages stamp set! Voting will end on May 5th, and the winner will be notified via e-mail.  Here are the entries:

Thanks for playing along!

2016 Retiring Products Blog Hop

May 2016 Blog Hop Button Resized

A big thank you to Di for sending you my way on our May edition of ‘Di’s Country INKers’ blog hop!  Hope you enjoyed her darling project.

This time of year always gives me very mixed feelings.  It’s certainly exciting to get an early peek at the new Annual Catalog (one of the best parts of being a demonstrator!  Hint-Hint…)  It’s also a bit sad, though, as we prepare to bid farewell to some really great products that will soon be retiring.  This month, we are giving some of our favorites a bit of inky love before we pack them away.

One of my favorite background stamps is Swallowtail.  Here I’ve stamped that big beautiful butterfly with Versamark on vellum cardstock, and heat beelinestamping.com 5-1-16embossed it in Whisper White.  I used daubers and Classic inks in Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and Marina Mist to color over and around the outline of the butterfly – really makes it pop off the page!  Fast Fuse adhesive and glue dots were used to adhere the vellum to a Whisper White panel.  One of the tricks in working with vellum is applying the adhesive in areas that will be hidden by the more solid areas of the stamp as well as any embellishments you will be using.  Here the Rhinestones and Whisper White satin ribbon as well as part of the wing on the right side are working to conceal my adhesives.  This card was case’d from one that former demonstrator Deb Valder did several years ago.

You can see the Retired List here, and have until May 31st to order products from the list.  Don’t hesitate, though – these products are available while supplies last, and there are already several things that have sold out!

Let’s head over to Kathya’s blog and take a look at one of her favorites.  Thank you so much for hopping along with us.  If at any time you get off track, a complete list of the stops on this month’s hop are listed below.

Time to Retire

The 2015 Retired List has posted – you can see it here

Retiring stamp sets will continue to be produced through May 26, but all other items are available only while supplies last.  I just checked and already most of the retiring 2013-2015 In-Color products are sold out.  I’ve also heard that the Hearts Collection Framelits are sold out as well.  Don’t wait – get your favorites items while you still can…

Due to heavy access today, the online ordering system is running  pretty slowly.  If you are having trouble placing your order in my online store, call me and I’ll get it entered for you!
