Another Botanic Gardens Project

In my last post, I mentioned that the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and Botanical Blooms stamp set were not retiring – Yay!! The beautiful Botanical Gardens matching DSP and Washi Tape, however is retiring in just a couple of short weeks. I know, right? (Heavy Sigh…) Here’s another card I made with these great items. beelinestamping.com 5-12-16

Now, laying out those squares and getting them to line up so precisely is way easier than you may be thinking. Would a full tutorial showing exactly how it’s done help? I just happen to have one all ready for you, and you can download it for free by going here! Several items used on this card are retiring at the end of May. If you want to make it exactly as shown, get your order in now. Products like DSP and Washi Tape are available while supplies last.

I would love to see your version of this card – send me a photo of your card and I just may post it on my blog…

Cajun Craze Botanical Garden

I am sure going to miss the Botanical Gardens DSP pack when it retires at the end of this month!  I have to admit to liking almost every design in the IMG_6358pack, but this one with the Bird of Paradise just left me a little flat.  I challenged myself to use it on a card, and even if I do say so myself, I think this design really hit the mark!  The simplicity of the paper is a perfect backdrop for the Cajun Craze flowers and Mossy Meadow leaves.  Of all the cards I’ve done with this suite, I think this one just may be my favorite!

The Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and Botanical Blooms stamp set are carrying over into the new Annual Catalog (yay!), but the Botanical Gardens DSP and coordinating Washi Tape is not.  If they are on your wish list, put your order in now because they’re only available while supplies last, and will officially retire on May 31st!

2016 Retiring Products Blog Hop

May 2016 Blog Hop Button Resized

A big thank you to Di for sending you my way on our May edition of ‘Di’s Country INKers’ blog hop!  Hope you enjoyed her darling project.

This time of year always gives me very mixed feelings.  It’s certainly exciting to get an early peek at the new Annual Catalog (one of the best parts of being a demonstrator!  Hint-Hint…)  It’s also a bit sad, though, as we prepare to bid farewell to some really great products that will soon be retiring.  This month, we are giving some of our favorites a bit of inky love before we pack them away.

One of my favorite background stamps is Swallowtail.  Here I’ve stamped that big beautiful butterfly with Versamark on vellum cardstock, and heat beelinestamping.com 5-1-16embossed it in Whisper White.  I used daubers and Classic inks in Rose Red, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, and Marina Mist to color over and around the outline of the butterfly – really makes it pop off the page!  Fast Fuse adhesive and glue dots were used to adhere the vellum to a Whisper White panel.  One of the tricks in working with vellum is applying the adhesive in areas that will be hidden by the more solid areas of the stamp as well as any embellishments you will be using.  Here the Rhinestones and Whisper White satin ribbon as well as part of the wing on the right side are working to conceal my adhesives.  This card was case’d from one that former demonstrator Deb Valder did several years ago.

You can see the Retired List here, and have until May 31st to order products from the list.  Don’t hesitate, though – these products are available while supplies last, and there are already several things that have sold out!

Let’s head over to Kathya’s blog and take a look at one of her favorites.  Thank you so much for hopping along with us.  If at any time you get off track, a complete list of the stops on this month’s hop are listed below.
