It’s the 5th of the month and that means another Creative Circle Blog Hop! Wasn’t Sandy’s project the bomb?! (can you tell I’m a big fan of her work?)
This month, we are featuring a really cool 3D Mailbox that Liz designed! I really had a lot of fun putting this one together – might just be my favorite of all that we’ve worked with! Here’s my version along with some coordinating cards:
Might be my granddaughter’s newfound love of all things Mickey/Minnie Mouse that influenced me, but I started working with Melon Mambo cardstock, and the black/white polka dots from the Neutrals DSP stack just seemed like a natural match! I used accents from Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit and stamps from the Bloomin’ Love set. Here’s a closer look at the Mail Box:
The lacy heart on the front is actually one of the foil heart doilies in the Love Blossoms kit that I turned over to the white side. I stamped the heart from Bloomin’ Love in Rose Red, then sponged Melon Mambo over all – I really like the way it turned out!
This box actually has a secret compartment! Not only does it open at the top like this…
…The front flap opens as well giving you LOTS of room for card sets. The back compartment holds three A2 sized cards and envelopes, the front (accessed by either the top or the front flap is great for smaller 3 x 3 cards/envelopes.

Cool box, eh? Would you like a chance to win the pattern and pre-cut material? Leave me a comment to enter into the drawing! On January 19th, one lucky person will be chosen at random to be the winner. What’s that? You don’t want to wait that long? No problem! The pattern can be yours today for $6.99 – head over to Liz’ online store to get your copy…
Time to send you off to see what Liz did with her project. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget, both the Occasions Mini and Sale-a-Bration catalogs go live today!! If you haven’t gotten your catalogs yet, please let me know and I’ll get some out to you right away…

Jan 1, 2016 | 2016, Occasions Catalog, Sale-A-Bration |

Welcome and Happy New Year to you!! In keeping with the ‘New’ theme, our first blog hop showcases products from the about-to-be-released Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs. Hope you enjoyed what Di had for you – here’s my project:
My card starts out with a base of the Whisper White Thick cardstock and is layered with a sheet from one of the new Designer Series Paper packs called Wildflower Fields that you can get for FREE starting January 5th when the Sale-a-Bration catalog goes live! I created a layered tag using Blushing Bride and Whisper White cardstock and the Triple Banner and Ornate Tag Topper punches. The cute little chick and balloon is from a set called Honeycomb Happiness – also available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration award! I stamped the chick and balloon once on the tag, then stamped the chick again on a scrap piece of Whisper White. He was watercolored with Daffodil Delight ink and shaped to give him a puffy tummy. I used dimensionals to not only adhere the shaped piece to the card, but to keep his tummy from flattening out. You could also use a tiny bit of cotton ball to maintain the shape as well. I think my favorite part of this card, however, is the balloon, and it’s done with one of the Honeycomb Embellishments from the new Occasions Catalogs. These little accent pieces come in White, Blushing Bride, and Mint Macaron – so cute!! After I watercolored the bow on the balloon, I gave it a bit of shimmer using the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen – another new item from the Occasions catalog! Here it is close-up:
It’s a little hard to capture the lovely shimmer this pen leaves (not so hard to see my coloring oops! Ha!) but this pen is by far becoming one of my favorite items in the catalog. It comes in Gold too! My card was finished off with a Blushing Bride Cotton bow and a piece of a Tea Lace Paper Doily.
You should have received your new Catalogs by now – if you didn’t, please get in touch with me and I’ll get a set sent out to you. You’ll especially want to see the Sale-a-Bration catalog as soon as possible. For every $50 in merchandise, you get to select a Free item, and this year, there are three Limited-Time products that are only available through February 15!
Your next stop on the Hop is Crystal, so off you go to see what lovely project she has in store for you! Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope 2016 brings you Health, Happiness and Prosperity…

Dec 5, 2015 | 2015, Blog Hops, Christmas, Creative Circle |

Welcome to the Creative Circle December Blog Hop – I’m so glad you are here! So tell me, are you completely in love with Sandy’s project? I know I always am!!!
This month we are working with a very unique box that Liz has created. It’s both a box and a gift card holder – great timing with the Holidays upon us! Traditionally, we make three cards to be enclosed in the boxes we work with. This month, however, I decided to turn my box into a hostess gift with an accompanying card. Here’s my project:
A little background on my choice of color schemes. Last week we had a doozy of a snow storm blow through. We got about a foot of heavy, wet snow that piled high on everything that wasn’t shoveled. That night, the temps dropped and hard froze everything. As severe as mother nature sometimes is with us, she also shows us some pretty beautiful stuff, and the next morning the sky was impossibly blue and all the hard frozen snow was glistening in the sunlight. White sparkle with blue sky is one of my favorite things about winter, and served as the inspiration of my project. My box is made from Pool Party cardstock and has a layer of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, another layer of Pool Party cardstock, and a top layer of the snowflake motif from the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum. It’s accented with Whisper White 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Silver Cording Trim, a Tea Lace Paper Doily, and a white-embossed Snowflake Element.
Here’s a closer look at the box:

And then when you open it – not only does it have a place for a gift card, mine also contains some sweet treats!! Perfect to bring with to one of the many holiday parties I will be attending this month. The greeting on the inside is from the Versatile Christmas stamp set and the stamped snowflakes are from the Project Life Hello December 2015 set. The corners were done with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch with some Rhinestones for bling.
The pattern for this box is available in Liz’ online store, and the video tutorial for assembly can be found here. The cut files are just $3.99 and you can use them with your e-cutter, or you can get them in a .pdf format to use as a template for manual cutting. Why not make some lovely gifts for your hostesses!
Oh! One last bit of eye candy… Liz gifted each of us with a cut file for some miniature boxes, and I built my own Advent Calendar with them. Of course, the Blue Snowflake theme was carried through this project. The DSP I used is, unfortunately, retired, but I thought it went well with today’s post!
I didn’t give you much of a look at the matching card for today’s project, but if you’ll stop back next week, I’ll have more details for you! Now, off you go to see what awaits you at Fran’s blog. I hope you have a great weekend, and don’t forget to take some time off from all the holiday preparations to create something. You’d be surprised at how much more productive you can be when you have a little mental vacation!!
