Mar 18, 2014 | 2014, Hostess Benefits, Weekly Deals |
Here’s a way to take advantage of the Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals AND earn hostess benefits:
Get in touch with me and ask for your own Hostess Code and I’ll set one up for you. It’s good for 30 days, and each purchase you make during that period counts towards Hostess Benefits! If you are shopping in my online store, just reference that code and the system will keep track of all the purchases that have been made. If you are not comfortable shopping online, I’ll be happy to place the order for you with your code. Then at the end of the 30 day period, we’ll close out the code and you get to choose your Benefits! How cool is that?!
I don’t know about you, but odds are that as soon as I finish entering an order, I remember something that I wanted to add. Sometimes that would have put me into Benefit territory and I’d be kicking myself – UGH! (Yes, Demonstrators get to earn Hostess Benefits too! Want more info?)

Mar 4, 2014 | 2014 Spring Mini Catalog, Eggstra Spectacular |
Here’s another card I promised to show you during last weekend’s blog hop, and was also made with my new favorite stamp set – Eggstra Spectacular. The hardest part about making this one was getting the Staz-On ink only on the lamb image and not the words. Of course you could always cut the stamp to separate the words from the image, but I can never bring myself to take a scissors or knife to any of my stamps! Aaaargh! It’s kind of like seeing a child take a scissors to her long hair and cutting off a chunk. In the end, you know it’ll be ok, but I’d just as soon avoid it all together.
So, how did I solve the problem you wonder. Easy peasy – I used a sticky note to mask the words then inked. Pull off the sticky note and you can then stamp the only the image.
Here, I stamped onto Whisper White, then colored the face and part of the tummy with Pink Pirouette marker. The eggs and basket were marker colored as well with Pear Pizzazz and Perfect Plum. It was punched with the 1-1/4 circle punch, then adhered to Pink Pirouette cardstock and punched with the 1-3/8 circle punch. The next layer is Pear Pizzazz and was punched with a (gasp) non SU 1-1/2″ punch.
The base is Pink Pirouette, with a Whisper White top layer that was embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder (only available as a FREE Sale-a-Bration award) I used the 1-3/4″ circle punch in the white layer to create a frame for my stamped image. Finally, a bit of Pink Pirouette taffeta ribbon for the bow and a few Pear Pizazz candy dots rounded off the embellishments.
What do you think – is it worthy of this little cutie?
This is my Granddaughter, Karly. She’ll be 4 months old in a couple of weeks. What a sweetheart she is – always smiling! This photo just melts my heart and makes me want to kiss her little face. (She’s darned lucky I don’t wear lipstick – just sayin’…)
All right, kids. My laundry awaits. Have a wonderful Tuesday – stamp something fun this week!

HA – I’ll bet that got your attention! Let me explain…
Chris, my dear husband, is a master when it comes to finding deals. I let him plan all our vacations because if there’s a bargain to be had, he will find it. He’ll research hotels, rental cars and excursions to the N’th degree until he’s satisfied that he’s looked at everything that can possibly be looked at and only then will he pull the trigger and book something. (Am I right, Marisa?)
There’s one word in the English dictionary, though, that will get him each and every time: FREE! If something is free, he’s on it. Going to a travel show? He’ll come home with a shopping bag full of brochures. Going to a trade show? A suitcase full of pens, stuffed animals, gadgets and who knows what makes its way home. He’s brought home so much ‘stuff’ that ‘Free’ has been dubbed the four-letter F word in our house!
I’m not always opposed to ‘Free’, however – especially when it comes to Stampin’ Up! stuff and the annual Sale-a-Bration promotion where you get FREE product with each $50 purchase.

My personal favorites? The Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper is top on the list. And it’s funny, but I had mixed reactions when I saw it in the catalog, but when I started playing with it, oh my… I also find myself reaching for the Decorative Dots embossing folder, and the Banner punch (which, by the way, is still going to be available in the 2014-2015 annual catalog!) So, what are you waiting for? Get your FREE stuff today!
