During last week’s blog hop, I posted this card and promised to write a tutorial on how I made the twine flowers.

More Sweet Sorbet

www.beelinestamping.com-2-4-14-MoreSweetSorbetI have to admit that when I first set eyes on this year’s Sale-A-Bration catalog, I wasn’t all that impressed with the Sweet Sorbet DSP.  However, after starting to work with it, I’m finding that I’m really starting to love it!  It’s got just enough floral to satisfy the girly in me, while the other patterns and colors are challenging me to make them work to my satisfaction.

This card was a double challenge.  I only have the Banner Blast stamp set, but I wanted to incorporate some florals into the mix.  I solved the problem by fussy cutting some of the images from a sheet of Sweet Sorbet DSP!

Here’s a close-up – cute, eh?  I like the mix of textures with the cork embellishments.  Didn’t think I’d like playing with them either! I surprised me…

It’s Time to Sale-A-Brate!

www.beelinestamping.com-1-31-14Welcome to Di’s Country Inker’s Sale-A-Bration blog hop!  Maybe you just arrived from Francis Santos’ blog, maybe you’re one of my followers, or maybe you just happened to stumble upon us.  However you arrived, I’m glad you did!

Today, we are featuring some of the items you can earn for free (yes, I said FREE) during the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration promotion.  For every $50 in merchandise ordered, you get to choose a free Sale-a-bration award – nice!!

One of the products available during the promo is the Sweet Sorbet Accessory pack which includes 10 Yards each of Crisp Cantalope, Pool Party, and Summer Starfruit Twine along with a sheet of printed adhesive-backed cork.  The twine is a bit heavier than our regular Baker’s Twine, but not as heavy as yarn, and oooh those colors!  It was calling me and I just had to do something fun with them, so I wove flowers with them.  Don’t they coordinate nicely with the Sweet Sorbet background paper?  Here’s a closer look:
