I want to send a big hug and thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in the Watercolor Pencil Challenge, and especially the girls who submitted projects for consideration. This was the first kind of challenge and post that I’ve done and I can say without hesitation that it was a lot of fun for everyone! The votes have declared Megan to be the winner, but I think each of the projects was a winner in their own right. One last look at all the beautiful submissions…

Can you believe it’s May already?! And – it’s the first of the month which means its time for another Di’s Country INKers blog hop. Perhaps you’ve arrived from seeing Mary’s beautiful project – what did you think?
This month we are featuring projects for Mother’s Day. My card is a ‘case’ (Copy and Share Everything) from Dawn Olchefske. What better way to celebrate Mother’s Day than with a lovely flower arrangement and the Jar of Love bundle fit the bill.

I started with a Pear Pizzazz card base, layered with Whisper White. My large flowers are stamped in Daffodil Delight and accented with Crushed Curry centers. The smaller flowers were stamped off once with Rose Red, then accented with full strength Rose Red. Leaves and ferns were stamped with Pear Pizzazz, and the jar was done in Smokey Slate. A little bit of die-cutting with the matching Everyday Jars Framelits set and I was ready to assemble with glue dots and dimensionals. Easy peasy! We’re going to be making this little lovely in my upcoming Mother’s Day card class (hint-hint)
I was thrilled to see that the Jar of Love set and coordinating framelits were not on the retiring list, so that means they will still be available in the upcoming Annual Catalog! However, they will no longer be offered as a bundle with a 10% discount as they are right now. You have until May 31st to take advantage of the savings. Oh! And I almost forgot to mention that the Tags and Labels Die set IS on the retiring list. It’s a very handy set, and I’ll be sad to see it go…
Off you go now to see what Kathya has to delight you with. A list of all the stops on our hop is below, just in case you get lost.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Hope you have a great rest of your week!

5/5/17 – Voting is now closed. See the results here!
In one of my recent classes, we were working with the new Watercolor Pencils. For the final project of the class, I issued a challenge to the attendees. They stamped the daisy image from Helping Me Grow onto a piece of Watercolor Paper. Using their new set of Watercolor Pencils, they took the piece home, colored the image, designed their own card, then sent me a photo of their card. I must say, I’m impressed with each card, and I really cannot decide which I like best. So I have decided to let you, dear readers, decide the winner of the challenge. Leave me a comment with your vote for the winner, and you may be a winner yourself! Everyone who votes will be entered into a drawing for the Marquee Messages stamp set! Voting will end on May 5th, and the winner will be notified via e-mail. Here are the entries:
