It’s the first of the month and that means time for another Di’s Country INKers blog hop. You may have arrived from Di’s blog – what did you think of her Springtime project?
Today’s card was one we made in class this week. The little purple blooms remind me of Lilacs, which, if it ever stops raining, will soon be in bloom here. I don’t know about you, but I think the springtime scent of Lilacs is one of the prettiest smells on earth!

Today’s project begins with an Emerald Envy card base. The foliage, from Number of Years, was inked in Emerald Envy and stamped off twice. The flowers, from the same set, were inked in Wisteria Wonder and also stamped off. The greeting, also from Number of Years, was stamped in Emerald Envy. We used the Layering Squares Framelits and the Stitched Shapes Framelits to create the Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White squares in the focal point.
Now, it’s a bit hard to photograph sparkles, but you can kind of see how sparkly and shiny this little Dragonfly is. While I was designing this card, I was playing around with a few different ways to take this little guy up a notch, and I came up with a new-to-me technique in the process. I showed it to the girls in my class this week and they were just as excited about it as I was. It’s hard to describe, so I’m working on a video to show you what I discovered. I’ll have it posted in a few days. Here’s a close-up…

Mar 1, 2017 | 2017, Blog Hops, Sale-A-Bration |

March 1st begins the last month of Sale-a-Bration (SAB), and to kick it off, we are featuring products from the best sale of the year in this month’s Blog Hop. If you’ve arrived from Di’s blog, thanks for hopping along.
As if there weren’t enough great SAB gifts to choose from, Stampin’ Up! has added three new choices! My favorite, so far, is the Glimmer Paper Assortment pack – 12 sheets, 3 colors, 4 sheets of each beautiful color! In today’s project, I chose to work with the Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugar Plum papers, the third color in the assortment is Bermuda Bay. You’ve got to see these papers for yourself – they are gorgeous!!

I started with a base of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock topped with a DSP layer from the Succulent Garden pack. I used the Layering Squares framelits to cut a piece of the Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper, then added a Whisper White layer cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits. The Sweet Sugarplum stamped images I used are from Flourishing Phrases, and I added two die cuts from the Flourish Thinlits Dies. The Layering Ovals and Stitched Shapes Framelits were used to cut the greeting assembly. The card was finished with a bow made with the 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon.
I know you’re going to enjoy Kathya’s project, so off you go to see what she has in store for you. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Remember that Sale-a-Bration awards are only available while supplies last – so get your favorites before they’re gone!

Feb 1, 2017 | 2017, Blog Hops, Occasions Catalog, Valentines |

Welcome to our February Blog Hop – this month we are featuring all things Valentine’s. How about Di’s project – cute, eh?
In December, I had a bunch of Holiday treats and holders left over from a craft fair I participated in and I was looking for a way to sell them. I asked if I could put them on display in the salon my daughter works in. (Vickie’s Personal Touch Salon in Wauconda, IL; Ask for Vera!) Now, being made with Stampin’ Up! product, they were, of course, cute, but I was floored at how quickly the products sold! Several of their customers asked if there would be any Valentine’s items for sale, so I went to work to give the customers what they wanted! I made a few different types of treat holders to see what would sell best – here’s one of them:

I brought in some 4 oz quilted jelly jars, filled them with Valentine’s Day M & M’s, and decorated them Stampin’ Up! style! The layers on the lid are: Bottom: Melon Mambo cut with the 2 1/8″ layering circle framelit die. Middle: Red Glimmer Paper cut with the 2″ circle punch. Top: Whisper White cut with the 1 3/4″ circle punch. On the top layer, I stamped the “Sealed With a Kiss” from the Sealed With Love stamp set in Versamark and used Real Red Glitter Stampin’ Embossing Powder. Once that was heat set, I stamped the lips image in Melon Mambo ink.

Around the jar band, I used a length of 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon in Real Red and concealed the seam with a bow made of the same ribbon. I stamped the heart from the Sealed With Love set in Versamark ink onto Melon Mambo cardstock and diecut it with the largest heart die from the Love Notes Framelits set. It was attached beneath the bottom layer of the lid assembly with a piece of Baker’s Twine. Then the band was screwed on.

Keep your eyes peeled for some additional Sale-a-Bration items in a couple of weeks! I got to preview them today and I can’t wait to get my hands on them!!!
Thanks so much for hopping along with us today. Your next stop on the hop is Kathya and I just know you’re going to love her project!
