May Blog Hop 2-001Welcome to Di’s Country INKers Springtime and Mother’s Day blog hop. Aren’t Diana’s cards sweet?

Something that always makes me stop to take a picture is a pretty trellis or gate with flowers climbing on it.  I’ve been seeing fences made with the Hardwood background stamp from our Occasions mini catalog, and I was inspired to make a gate of my own.  Of course, since it’s a Mother’s Day card, it needed to have a heart carved into it!

I began by stamping the Hardwood onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then I  cut the ‘boards’ into gate 1individual pieces with my Stampin’ Trimmer.  I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.  I used the Circles and Hearts Framelits to create the curve and the heart in my gate.  The clouds were done with the Word Bubbles Framelits.  The large flowers are from the Petite Petals/Punch bundle, and the small flowers were done with the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (this one’s on the retiring list – get yours before it goes away for good!) The vines were done with the leaf from the Bird Builder punch.  All the flowers were accented with Pearl Basic Jewels.  Don’t you just love those little bitty pearls?  They’re so tiny and delicate – wish I could get a whole sheet of just those!  Here’s a close-up of the greeting and the flowers with those pearls – so cute!! gate 2Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Now, off you go to see what Kathya has to show you.  If you get lost along the way, here are all the links:
