‘Tis the Season Blog Hop

December 2014 Blog Hop Resized

beelinestamping.com-12-01-14Thanks for following along with our December blog hop!  What did you think of Di’s project?  She always shows the cutest stuff!

From the moment I saw the Cheerful Christmas stamp set and the Filigree Frame embossing folder at Convention, I was in love!  I’ve done several cards with this set, but this one is by far my favorite.  The color combination of Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla just screams Christmas to me.

I started with a standard card base of Cherry Cobbler and layered it with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla cardstock that was embossed with the Filigree Frame folder.  I stamped the Nordic motif from Cheerful Christmas in Mossy Meadow on a 2 5/8″ square of Very Vanilla and layered it on a 2 3/4″ square of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  I colored in the little hearts and berries in the motif with my Cherry Cobbler marker.  I used two of the Petite Petals punched flowers and one flower punched with the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack to form the floral accent in the center of the motif.  I added some bling with Cherry Cobbler seam binding and Rhinestones that were colored with the darkest of the Old Olive Blendabilities markers.

Speaking of Blendabilities – don’t forget that today only, while supplies last, all 12 colors of the Blendabilities markers are on sale as a bundle for 30% off!  That is an amazing deal!  If you were to buy each color individually, you’d be spending $143.40, but today you can get bundle #140388 for just $100.  Get your order in a quickly as you can, because I can guarantee you that this deal will sell out fast!

Update as of 9:00 am – The Blendabilities bundle has sold out already – sorry!  But there are plenty of other deals to be had!

Thanks for stopping by, now off you go to see what Kathya has to show you!

Creative Blog Hop

I’ve been ‘tagged’ by Kathya Hidalgo to participate in a different kind of blog hop.  This one happens on Mondays, and each blogger who has been tagged answers five questions.  So, here goes…

What am I working on now?   This week I will be making a couple of last minute Halloween cards, but I will also be designing blog hop buttons for the Di’s Country INKers blog hop that will happen on Saturday of this week.  I use My Digital Studio to make them coordinate with the theme of the month.  For November, we will be showcasing Fall and Thankful themed projects.  I will also be working on several designs for my Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack class on November 16th – that’s coming up quickly!!

Why do I create what I do?    That’s an easy one!  For me, Stamping and Paper Crafting is a great mental vacation.  It gives me a chance to escape the laundry and dishes for a little while and make something that’s visually pleasing, and that I know the recipient will be delighted with.  When I’m in my studio, all I’m thinking about is color, texture, balance, harmony, etc.  Oh, and maybe the RomCom in the DVD player or the series I’m binge watching on Netflix!  Ha!

How does my creative process go?   It generally starts with making a list of things I need to create for the week.  For instance, my upcoming Stamp-a-Stack.  I start with what stamp sets I want to use.  From there I pick a color theme to match the mood I want to convey in the card.  I might also turn to Pinterest to see how my stamp set is being used in the community.  Quite often I’ll meld things I like from a couple of projects that have caught my eye.  After that it’s a bit of trial and error like:  Does this ribbon work, or maybe that one will be better.  Does it need a pearl or rhinestone to take it up a notch?

How does my work differ from others in my genre?   I’m not sure that it really does differ all that much.  I can say that I lean heavily towards floral and or sparkly designs.  Those will always catch my eye first.  I do tend to do a lot of layers and use ribbon and bows quite a bit.  Clean and simple cards are a struggle for me, but I find that those are the ones that get the best results in my classes.  At this point in my creative endeavors, I’m really trying to discipline myself to keep it simple, but with all the wonderful stuff in the Stampin’ Up! catalog, that’s a bit like telling a kid she can only have one piece of candy from the Halloween bucket!!  Guess I’ll just have to make a ton of cards so I can play with ALL the candy…

Tag, you’re it!   With all that being said, next week, please visit my very talented sideline, Crystal Rood at www.stampinonroodfarm.blogspot.com   By the way, both Kathya and Crystal will be joining me for the Di’s Country INKers blog hop that happens on Saturday.  Please stop by and say hello!!

It’s Time For Another Blog Hop!

October Blog Hop_Resized

Hi, and thanks for hopping along with us today! You may be just joining us, or, you may have been sent over from Kathya’s project.  What did you think?  Great stuff, eh?

Each month, we decide on a theme for our hop.  For October, we thought we’d all do projects that relate to fall.  We added a fun little twist this month, though.  You see, our fabulous upline, Diana Gibbs, has been named to this year’s Advisory Board, and as a tribute to Diana’s accomplishments, we have each selected one of her past blog post

Diana - June 22, 2010projects to CASE.  I thought it would be appropriate to go back in the archives to the day that I joined the Stampin’ Up! family under Diana.  So, let’s turn back the hands of time to June 22, 2010, and see what Diana was working with way back then:

So cute!  Makes me want to run out to Coldstone and get something yummy…  Of course, just about everything on that card has long since been retired, so I turned to the Color Me Autumn designer series paper along with stamps and matching Framelits from the Fall Fest set.  Here’s my interpretation of Diana’s project:

I just love all the colors in this paper!  With the assistance of the Fun Fall Framelits, this card came together in no time – so much easier and precise than fussy cutting, especially when you use the Big Shot Magnetic Platform!

Ok, now off you go to see what loveliness Crystal has in store for you.  Thanks for stopping by today.  If at any point you lose your place, the hoppers are listed below.

A supply list for this card can be found below…

Time for a Blog Hop!

Sept Blog Hop-001

Hiya! Thanks for taking time from your Labor Day Weekend to join us on our September Blog Hop!  Maybe you arrived from Diana Gibbs’ blog, or maybe you’re just joining us.  Either way, we have some fun stuff to show you, so grab a cup of coffee and hop along!

beelinestamping.com-Sept Blog HopThis month’s theme is anything from the new Holiday Mini catalog that just released a couple of days ago.  There’s so much great stuff in this Mini that it was hard for me to decide what to show you today!  In the end, the For All Things stamp set and Color Me Autumn DSP won out.  I started with a base of Cajun Craze layered with Very Vanilla.  It’s all topped off with an embossed panel of Mossy Meadow and the DSP, along with some 3/8″ stitched satin ribbon also in Mossy Meadow.  I did some tone on tone stamping with Crushed Curry on a Chalk Talk Framelit die cut in the same color, then stamped the greeting in Early Espresso.  My favorite part of this card has to be the wooden leaves from the Autumn Wooden Elements. I wasn’t happy with them in their natural color, so sponged a little Cajun Craze ink on them – so easy!  Here’s a closer look:

The colored pearls above the greeting is my next favorite element on this card.  I started out with my Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities markers to color them, but they were a bit too bright for the card.  I turned to Skin Tone Assortment Blendies and added a little of the Mocha to bring down the brightness and match the color scheme a little better – didn’t know you could blend on a surface so small, did you?!  beelinestamping.com-Sept Blog Hop2

Di’s Country INKers July Blog Hop

July Blog Hop-001Welcome to our July Blog Hop!  Perhaps you have arrived here from Diana Gibbs’ blog, but If you’re just beelinestamping.com-July Blog Hopjoining us, we invite you to hop along!  This month we were challenged to come up with anything Patriotic or Red, White and Blue.  Enter the Maritime Designer Series Paper pack – one of my very favorites from the new catalog.  There’s just something appealing about it’s crisp clean designs, and I knew it was what I wanted to work with for this month’s Hop.  But I was at a bit of a loss for just what to actually do with it.  That is until I saw this week’s Cas(e) This Sketch winner by Amy Sheffler.  Loved it’s simplicity and I knew that would do just fine for me!  So I got out my Banner Framelits and my Star Punch and went to town.  I thought the stars needed a little ‘jazzing’ up, so I took my Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities marker and colored some Rhinestones red – cool, eh?  Here’s a closer look…

beelinestamping.com-july blog hop1

For the greeting, I used photopolymer stamps that came with the June My Paper Pumpkin kit.  (What?  You haven’t subscribed yet?  You can sign up at www.mypaperpumpkin.com but don’t forget to select me as your demonstrator!)

So, have you heard the big news?  Several of the color families of the Blendabilities have been released today for you to purchase!  When you’re done hopping with us, hop on over to my online store and get your favorite colors.  Choose from Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, or the Skin Tone Assortment.  The rest of the color families will be available to you in August.

Also available to you today is the Color Lifter and The Memento Ink Pad and Refill!  The Memento Ink Pad is a must with the Blendies – water-based inks like our Classic Pads and Staz-On will turn your projects into a muddy mess.  You have to work with a dye ink like Memento with these markers.  Good news, though – you don’t need any special paper.  Whisper White does a fantastic job!

And now it’s time to send you over to see what Mary has for you.  If you get lost, I’ve listed all of this month’s players below.  Thanks for stopping by – enjoy the rest of the hop!!July Next

Springtime and Mother’s Day Blog Hop

May Blog Hop 2-001Welcome to Di’s Country INKers Springtime and Mother’s Day blog hop. Aren’t Diana’s cards sweet?

Something that always makes me stop to take a picture is a pretty trellis or gate with flowers climbing on it.  I’ve been seeing fences made with the Hardwood background stamp from our Occasions mini catalog, and I was inspired to make a gate of my own.  Of course, since it’s a Mother’s Day card, it needed to have a heart carved into it!

I began by stamping the Hardwood onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then I  cut the ‘boards’ into beelinestamping.com-hardwood gate 1individual pieces with my Stampin’ Trimmer.  I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.  I used the Circles and Hearts Framelits to create the curve and the heart in my gate.  The clouds were done with the Word Bubbles Framelits.  The large flowers are from the Petite Petals/Punch bundle, and the small flowers were done with the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (this one’s on the retiring list – get yours before it goes away for good!) The vines were done with the leaf from the Bird Builder punch.  All the flowers were accented with Pearl Basic Jewels.  Don’t you just love those little bitty pearls?  They’re so tiny and delicate – wish I could get a whole sheet of just those!  Here’s a close-up of the greeting and the flowers with those pearls – so cute!!
