Springtime and Mother’s Day Blog Hop

May Blog Hop 2-001Welcome to Di’s Country INKers Springtime and Mother’s Day blog hop. Aren’t Diana’s cards sweet?

Something that always makes me stop to take a picture is a pretty trellis or gate with flowers climbing on it.  I’ve been seeing fences made with the Hardwood background stamp from our Occasions mini catalog, and I was inspired to make a gate of my own.  Of course, since it’s a Mother’s Day card, it needed to have a heart carved into it!

I began by stamping the Hardwood onto Crumb Cake cardstock, then I  cut the ‘boards’ into beelinestamping.com-hardwood gate 1individual pieces with my Stampin’ Trimmer.  I sponged the edges with Soft Suede ink.  I used the Circles and Hearts Framelits to create the curve and the heart in my gate.  The clouds were done with the Word Bubbles Framelits.  The large flowers are from the Petite Petals/Punch bundle, and the small flowers were done with the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack (this one’s on the retiring list – get yours before it goes away for good!) The vines were done with the leaf from the Bird Builder punch.  All the flowers were accented with Pearl Basic Jewels.  Don’t you just love those little bitty pearls?  They’re so tiny and delicate – wish I could get a whole sheet of just those!  Here’s a close-up of the greeting and the flowers with those pearls – so cute!!

Sale-a-Bration Thank You

beelinestamping.com-Flower Shop Thank You 1Seems like I’m just hitting my stride with Sale-a-Bration, but alas, we have just a couple more days before it’s over…

Today’s Thank You card uses some of the paper from the Sweet Sorbet DSP pack that you can get for free with a $50 order.  It also uses the Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp sets and matching punches.  Coincidentally, the stamp/punch bundles for these sets, when added together, total exactly $50.00!  How’s that for a Sale-a-Bration combination?

The other thing I’m absolutely loving about this card is the Thank You from Lots of Thanks paired with the frame from Sweetly Framed (which matches the Decorative Label punch).  Ahhh – Stampin’ Up!  They make it so easy to create great-looking stuff…

Supplies for this card are shown below.  To order, just click on the picture and you will be taken right to the ordering screen…

That Four-Letter F Word…

HA – I’ll bet that got your attention!  Let me explain…

Chris, my dear husband, is a master when it comes to finding deals.  I let him plan all our vacations because if there’s a bargain to be had, he will find it.  He’ll research hotels, rental cars and excursions to the N’th degree until he’s satisfied that he’s looked at everything that can possibly be looked at and only then will he pull the trigger and book something.  (Am I right, Marisa?)

There’s one word in the English dictionary, though, that will get him each and every time:  FREE!  If something is free, he’s on it.  Going to a travel show?  He’ll come home with a shopping bag full of brochures.  Going to a trade show?  A suitcase full of pens, stuffed animals, gadgets and who knows what makes its way home.  He’s brought home so much ‘stuff’ that ‘Free’ has been dubbed the four-letter F word in our house!

I’m not always opposed to ‘Free’, however – especially when it comes to Stampin’ Up! stuff and the annual Sale-a-Bration promotion where you get FREE product with each $50 purchase.

SAB-Full

My personal favorites?  The Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper is top on the list.  And it’s funny, but I had mixed reactions when I saw it in the catalog, but when I started playing with it, oh my…  I also find myself reaching for the Decorative Dots embossing folder, and the Banner punch (which, by the way, is still going to be available in the 2014-2015 annual catalog!)  So, what are you waiting for?  Get your FREE stuff today!

Eggstra Spectacular Easter Blog Hop

Eggstra Special 1-www.beelinestamping.com-3-1-14

Hi – c’mon in!  Glad you could join us on our Easter Blog Hop!  So, what’d you think of Francis Santos’ lovely project?  So cute…

Here’s a card we did in my Technique Lover’s class this week, where we learned Bouncing Brayer.  We started with a square of Whisper White and ‘bounced’ Pink Pirouette and Soft Sky ink onto it to create the striped background, then layered it onto the coordinating cardstock for a perfect match.  The die cut piece was done in Wisteria Wonder with the Lattice Bigz die and the Big Shot.  We markered the color onto the egg from the Eggstra Spectacular stamp set then cut it with the Ovals Collection Framelits.  The flowers are from the Petite Petals set and were punched with the Petite Petals Punch.

I’m just loving the stamps in Eggstra Spectacular – stop back next week; I’ll have a few more cards to show you…

Thanks for stopping in – off you go to see what Crystal Rood has in store for you!

So Very Grateful Valentine

www.beelinestamping.com-2-14-14The first stamp set I ordered from the 2014 Spring Mini catalog was So Very Grateful.  A couple of weeks ago, I was playing around with the stamps and came up with this card – I liked it so well, it became part of my Valentine’s Day Class!

I started with a card base of Very Vanilla.  I layered Blushing Bride cardstock over Cherry Cobbler and ran them through my Big Shot with the second smallest die from the Hearts Collection Framelits.  The sandwich left an impression on the Blushing Bride layer that I used as a template to lay down a fine line of glitter glue then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over that.

I stamped the corner floral image from So Very Grateful in Versamark and heat embossed it with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  The Flower centers were accented with Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details. The Cherry Cobbler/Blushing Bride panels were adhered together and popped up with Dimensionals.  The stamp in the center of the hearts is from the Best Of Love set.  The card was finished off with a rhinestone in the center image.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you – tell someone you love them today!!
